130 Cuban citizens have been repatriated! Note the little interest in the influx of Cubans – why?

Nassau | On Wednesday 8th February, the Immigration Department successfully conducted a repatriation exercise. At approximately 8:57 am, a Bahamas Airlines charter flight carrying 130 Cuban nationals left Linden Pindling International Airport in New Providence for Havana, Cuba.

The exercise was conducted by a joint security team composed of immigration officers and Royal Bahamian Defense Force officers.

The Department of Defense’s Deportation and Enforcement Unit led the escort. All security and health protocols were adhered to as the safety and welfare of our officers, law enforcement counterparts and immigrants is paramount.
