15,719 refugees arrived from Ukraine on Tuesday

A total of 6,899 people crossed from Ukraine directly to Hungary on Tuesday, while another 8,820 from Ukraine crossed from Romania, according to the National Police Headquarters (ORFK).

Police have issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 261 people, ORFK told MTI on Wednesday.

It added that holders of such permits must contact the local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for a permanent document.

According to ORFK, Budapest received 28 people (7 of them children) on the train.
