20 Palestinians Wounded in Attack on Jerusalem Settlers – Middle East Monitor

At least 21 people, including children, were injured yesterday when militant Israeli-Jewish settlers attacked Palestinians in the Old City of Jerusalem. Al Resalah newspaper reported.

Children and the elderly were among those injured in the attack at the old town market, sources said.

Store owner Sami Sarhab said such attacks take place almost daily under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

He said settlers raided the market and attacked a group of workers doing maintenance work in one of the shops.

As Palestinians gathered near the shops, settlers sprayed people in the market, including children, with pepper gas.

Meanwhile, 255 extremist Israeli Jews stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday to perform a Talmudic ceremony.

Settlers attacks and raids on al-Aqsa are expected to increase in the coming days as Jews celebrate Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the Jewish New Years.
