2022 World Cup: England and USA draw scoreless

Doha — England played United States in their 2022 FIFA World Cup Group B match on Friday, ending in a goalless draw.

American Walker Zimmerman blocked England forward Harry Kane’s shot in the 6-yard box in the 10th minute at Al Bait Stadium.

US midfielder Weston McKechnie missed a scoring chance after hitting the opposition’s goal from close range in the 25th minute.

Chelsea’s US-based winger Christian Pulisic’s left-footed long shot hit the England crossbar in the 32nd minute.

In the 42nd minute, Pulisic missed a chance with a header.

In the 44th minute, England’s Bukayo Saka had a shot inside the penalty area.

In the 46th minute, US goalkeeper Matt Turner stabbed Mason Mount’s precise shot into a corner kick, ending the first half without conceding a goal.

In the second half, Turner saved a long shot from Marcus Rashford in the 86th minute.

Kane wasted another chance to score for England with an inaccurate header in the 93rd minute.

England are top of Group B with four points. Iran is his third and he is second. The United States are her second and he is third, while Wales are bottom of the group with one point. – agency
