2,819 coronavirus cases; intubation less than 200

Greek health officials announced on Monday 2,819 cases of coronavirus and 22 deaths in the last 24 hours. For the first time since a few months, the number of intubated Covid patients fell below 200.

The number of infections confirmed since the pandemic began is 3,364,598.

Of the 2,819 new coronavirus infections, 313 were reinfections. The total number of reinfections since the onset of the pandemic was estimated to be 126,267 (3.6% percent of total positive results).

22 Covid-related deaths brought the total number of pandemic casualties to 29,417. Of these, 95.6% had an underlying condition and / or were 70 years or older.

198 Covid-19 patients are on mechanical ventilation. The median age was 70 years, with 92.9% having underlying illness or over 70 years.

Of the total intubation, 102 (51.52%) were unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 96 (48.48%) were fully vaccinated.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,628 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

109 Covid-19 patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours (daily change: -9.92%). The average hospital admission of Covid-19 patients over the last 7 days was 131.

The median age of the new infection was 36 years (range: 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of the deceased was 79 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
