3 Gold Holes by Malaysian Shuttle in Birmingham

Malaysia returned to the Gold Trail in spectacular fashion today for Day 5 of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in the UK.

The national badminton team produced an outstanding performance to clinch the mixed team gold medal, putting the Malaysian delegation on track to achieve their target of six golds in the prestigious quarterly games.

The Shuttles beat defending champions India 3-1 in the final, avenging their 3-1 loss to the same opponent at the 2018 edition on Australia’s Gold Coast.

Teenage judo instructor Amir Daniel Abdul Majid also deserves credit for winning the bronze medal in the men’s 73 kg category today.

Malaysia currently holds 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. Her two remaining gold medals were delivered by weightlifters on Saturday (July 30).

Australia remains top of the table with 42 gold, 32 silver and 32 bronze medals, followed by hosts England (31-34-21) and New Zealand (13-7-6).

The weightlifting national team, which has already won two golds and one silver, will look to pick up another medal on day six (today) when Muhammad Hafiz Shamsuddin competes in the men’s 109kg division. I hope

It’s a moment of truth as US-based Shereen Samson Vallabouy competes in the women’s 400m race at Alexander Stadium today.

High jumper Nauraj Singh Randawa will also participate. – Bernama, 3 August 2022. 3 Gold Holes by Malaysian Shuttle in Birmingham
