The Directorate General of Transportation has announced the “Traffic Violation Resolution Initiative” to help violators clear pending violations. This initiative offers a 50% discount while clearing accumulated violations. Since it runs for three months, the grace period will be effective from December 18, which coincides with Qatar’s National Foundation Day. This was announced at a press conference held at the headquarters of the General Bureau on Monday. Transportation officials said payments can be completed via Metrash2.
Brigadier General Mohamed Abdullah al-Shahwani said there will be stricter legal proceedings for traffic violations starting next year and urged the public to take advantage of this initiative.
Colonel Muhammad Radi al-Hajri said the initiative was intended to correct the violator’s condition and not to accumulate vehicle owner violations.
Violations include radar violations, as well as those recorded by patrols and traffic officers and vehicle seizure violations.
