A man accused of spreading disinformation about Covid was acquitted

Czech news site iDnes reports that the Pilsen District Court has been acquitted of 34-year-old Jan Jungman for spreading disinformation about Covid-19. The proceedings he faced in prison for up to eight years centered around comments made on Facebook in February 2021 during the declaration of an emergency, as medical staff at Pilsen University Hospital “increase the number.” In addition, Covid intentionally kills the patient. The court ruled on Friday that what he did was not a crime, but the ruling is not final as there may still be appeals.

The court said it was true that the man was disseminating false information, but according to Senator Joseph Prak, Jungmann’s allegations were so ridiculous and cut off from reality that of the public. Did not raise any concerns between. Jungman said he was ill at the time of writing his comment, he was afraid when he read the article about Covid, and he didn’t know what to believe, and he protected himself.
