A man arrested after a fatal puncture wound in the city of Kilkenny

A man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after being fatally stabbed in the city of Kilkenny. The puncture wound occurred on Hebron Road in the city just before lunch.

The dead in their 40s were treated on-site by rescuers before being taken to St. Luke’s General Hospital, but efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.

Gardai said he had arrested a man in his twenties and was investigating “all the circumstances surrounding the deadly assault” that occurred at 12:45 pm on the streets outside the premises.

The arrested man was detained at Kilkenny Garda Station under Article 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. This allows him to be cross-examined for up to 24 hours without charge.

The site of the attack was closed and under investigation by members of the Garda Technical Bureau. In a brief statement about the incident on Tuesday, Garda headquarters said: Phoenix Mr. Park of Dublin said the state pathologist’s office had been notified that the victim’s body was to be autopsied.

“Kilkenny’s Gardai is calling on anyone who may have information related to this case to be contacted,” he said.

Those who were on Hebron Road between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm on Tuesday, especially road users who may have dashcam footage, were asked to contact Kilkenny’s Gardai (056) 7775000. rice field.
