A New York Magazine reporter who examined Trump's ears weeks after the assassination attempt details what he saw
Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi said she was allowed to examine Donald Trump's ear, where he was shot, during an interview and described it as “normal, incredible and fine.”
A 20-year-old gunman attempted to kill former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, but only grazed his ear and left him bloody.
Nuzzi, the New York magazine reporter who wrote about Trump in Florida just a few weeks after the shooting, couldn't help but mention the condition of Trump's ear.
Trump tapped the spot where he was shot, and Nuzzi wrote that his “ear has never hurt more than it has before.”
“The particular spot he identified with the tap was in immaculate condition. I carefully inspected the rest of the terrain and it looked normal and was incredibly clean,” she added.

Nuzzi, the New York magazine reporter, profiled Trump in Florida just a few weeks after the shooting and couldn't help but mention the condition of Trump's ear.
In a New York Magazine article, she said she found a small piece of shrapnel in Trump's ear that appeared to be from a gunshot wound, and described the scar in questionable terms.
“My ear had never been so badly injured before, except that in this tiny little area of carving on the skin, there was a tiny distortion that resembled not the scars of crucifixion but the distant aftereffects of a sunburn.”
Trump himself was feeling somewhat philosophical about his own wounds.
“They're train tracks. There was no need for stitches. It's crazy. Usually something like this is considered a surreal experience that you don't even realize you have, but in this case it wasn't surrealism,” he told Nuzzi.
“I immediately felt the bullet and I also realized it was my ear. It was a surprise. And, you know, ears bleed a lot.”
Her comments seemed to leave room for the crazy conspiracy theories sprung up by liberals in the aftermath of the shooting.
YouTuber James Klug interviewed members of the public in Huntington Beach, California, asking them their thoughts on the assassination attempt on President Trump.
“It was a false flag operation,” one man told him. He responded, “One man dead, two wounded. What do you think about that?”
“It's a false flag operation,” the man simply replied.
Another beachgoer said: “I thought it was a great performance. It was done by professionals. It looked like the real thing.”
Asked who orchestrated it, he replied: “Mr. Trump, of course.”

The man added that death and injury were a “small price to pay.” “It doesn't matter to Trump,” he said. “Do you think he cares if people die so he can get elected?”
“Death means nothing to Trump.”
“I think he escaped alive with just a damaged ear. It was all fabricated behind the scenes.”
“They gave him a small cut on his ear and a little blood on his face.”
Klug asked, “So you think they planned to shoot him in the tip of his ear from 130 yards away?”
The man replied, “I didn't shoot the tip of his ear off. It was all done by the people around him.”
“I think this whole thing was staged,” a third man claimed. [Trump] Or maybe the other side is trying to stir up trouble.
“But what got through to him was the fact that he stood up and said, 'America, this is not normal.'
Trump was shot in the ear and attendees at the fateful rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, were killed in a hail of bullets from Crooks that was reportedly ended by brave police fire from the ground.
“It seems to me like it was planned. Bless the soul of that person who lost their life for this. I really feel for that person's family. That's just how I feel.”
Suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired eight shots into the crowd, hitting President Trump in the ear and shooting three rally attendees, one of whom died.
A Secret Service countersniper team shot and killed the male gunman, who they said opened fire from an elevated position outside the rally before being shot and killed. Two other people were seriously wounded in the shooting.
Images posted on social media showed the dead gunman lying on top of a beige building about 300 feet north of the stage where Trump was standing when he was shot.
The gunmen opened fire from AGR International, a plastic container manufacturing plant.
As Trump was saying, “Look what happened,” shots rang out shortly before 6pm ET, screams of terror rang out and Trump and bystanders fell to the ground.
Immediately after the shooting, President Trump fell to the floor and shouts of “the gunman is down” were heard, as attendees at the rally screamed in terror.
The 45th president was seen hunched over with blood coming from his ears. Trump later released a statement on TruthSocial detailing what had happened to him.
The body of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who plotted to assassinate former President Trump, has been returned to his family for cremation just 10 days after the shooting.
He wrote, “I was shot above my right ear. I knew immediately something was wrong as I heard the whoosh and the gunshot and felt the bullet penetrate my skin. I was bleeding profusely and realized what was happening. God Bless America!”
It had previously been suggested that Trump was injured by pieces of a broken teleprompter.
Seconds later, the bloodied congressman raised his fist to show he was OK while surrounded by Secret Service agents before being taken away.
Trump can also be heard repeatedly asking, “Let me get my shoes.”
The crowd, realizing their hero was unharmed and the immediate danger seemed to have passed, began chanting “USA, USA” as he was hurriedly led away and placed into a Secret Service SUV.
The former president quickly recovered from the shooting and was hailed as a hero at the first day of the Republican National Convention, even with a bandaged ear.
