Hyderabad: A petition has been filed with the State High Court to challenge the state government’s order to allow the people of Telangana to hold a New Year celebration. The petitioner alleged that the government ignored the HC’s order to impose restrictions on New Year’s celebrations.
He also alleged that the state government violated epidemic and disaster management laws by issuing orders. He argued that the government was acting arbitrarily rather than focusing on containing the spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid virus. He told HC that the state had registered 62 cases of Omicron mutations.
He urged the HC to revoke the state government’s orders and urged restrictions on New Year’s celebrations.
