Two Romanian spouses were fined by German authorities for taking their minor children on a trip, even though he had to be in school.
It all happened at the airport in the southern part of the country. When getting off the plane, police asked the couple what the purpose of the trip was and why he took the child, especially since he was supposed to be at school.
Authorities believed that Romanian parents violated the child’s right to compulsory education.
German police have announced the responsible school authorities in Bucharest, and the unit will also notify the city hall, which establishes the amount of fines.
Romania has similar laws, but they rarely apply. Parents whose children are unreasonably absent from school can be fined up to 5,000 lei.
