Abu Dhabi Opens New Emergency Medical Center for Covid-19 Patients

A new emergency medical center at Al Raba Hospital has been opened in Abu Dhabi to assist patients with Covid-19.

The unit is open daily from noon to 10 pm and provides Covid-19 medical services to patients referred by the Prime Assessment Center of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest healthcare network, announced on Sunday. Offers.

Once the patient is confirmed to be Covid-19 positive, blood tests, x-rays, and other medical tests are done to assess the patient’s overall condition and severity of symptoms.

Severely ill patients are admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and placed under medical supervision.

Al Raba Hospital, run by SEHA’s Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), has become an infectious disease hospital, including Covid-19. The number of beds in the hospital has increased to 250, 200 have been assigned to acute care and 50 have been assigned to the ICU. The recently opened emergency medical center at Al Raba Hospital aims to further increase access to emergency medical care in Abu Dhabi.

Al Raba Hospital also has 48 doctors specializing in internal medicine and infectious diseases. Appropriate medical procedures are provided for patients with severe Covid-19 symptoms. The hospital also provides medical services related to chronic diseases such as heart, kidney and liver infections.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, in 2021, the Pandemic triggered a major refurbishment and expansion to meet the requirements of a designated infectious disease hospital.

“Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Al Raba Hospital was one of the first hospitals designated for Covid-19 patient care in Abu Dhabi. In 2021, this hospital was designated as an infectious disease-specific facility in the Emirate. As of February 13, MoHAP stated that the total number of cases recorded in the UAE was 868,237.
