Abu Dhabi to host one of the region’s largest food and healthcare storage hubs

AD Ports Group has announced that its new warehouse and logistics hub in Abu Dhabi will be operational in the third quarter of this year.

The hub, KLP21, is located in Kizad, the Group’s integrated trade, logistics and industrial zone between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, adjacent to the upcoming regional food hub along the main E311 freight corridor, and close to all Ensure direct connectivity to key markets. The company said in a statement.

Consisting of four warehouses with a capacity of over 80,000 square meters, KLP21 will be one of the largest temperature-controlled logistics hubs in the region.

The combined warehouse will be able to accommodate more than 100,000 pallets across a network of chambers that can be individually configured for different sizes and temperatures, including -26°C to 25°C, the statement added.

Developed by Kizad, the facility will also be able to support critical local industries that require cold and ambient storage, such as healthcare, food and beverage, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and specialty chemical sectors. We offer a variety of third-party logistics (3PL) and fourth-party logistics (4PL) services, operating regional logistics hubs, and value-added services such as repackaging, special packaging, and labeling.

KLP21 provides potential partners and customers with direct and efficient access to local, regional and global markets. In addition, the hub will have more than 400 transport vehicles to support domestic and cross-border road travel, the company said. The facility houses two of his four 40,000 m2 warehouses operated by AD Ports Logistics.

The project is designed with advanced insulation that reflects sunlight. Application of skylights to reduce lighting needs. recycling of irrigation water; centralized refrigeration systems; and also the use of primary, backup, and solar power.

Earlier this year, AD Ports Group partnered with UAE conglomerate Ghassan Aboud Group to create one of the region’s largest wholesale food trading and logistics hubs in KIZAD.
