Etihad Airways and ADQ have announced a deal to support the continued transformation of Etihad Airways and the future growth of Abu Dhabi’s civil aviation sector.
Several Etihad Airways, which provide airline support services, will be part of the new ADQ airline as part of the proposed merger.
Upon completion of the transaction, the airline’s support services business will benefit from becoming part of ADQ’s broad mobility and logistics portfolio, including Abu Dhabi Airport and the AD Port Group.
Etihad Engineering, Etihad Airport Service Freight, Etihad Airways Service Ground, Etihad Airways Training, Etihad Secure Logistics, and Etihad Technical Training are one of the companies involved in the proposed transaction.
In addition, two Etihad companies will participate in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company as part of the Planned Transaction (ADNEC). Etihad Airport Service Catering will merge with ADNEC’s Capital Hospitality Catering Division, and Etihad Holiday will merge with ADNEC’s tourism promotion company, Tourism 365.

Transactions are subject to normal closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, last month, ADNEC announced that it had acquired Etihad Holiday to expand its footsteps in the tourism sector.
