AirBridge Supporting Narrow Price Inequalities in Eastern Indonesia: Government

Jakarta (ANTARA)-According to the Ministry of Transport, the Airbridge Program (Jembara) is believed to have succeeded in closing the price gap for some essentials in eastern Indonesia.

In 2021, he added that the price of purebred chicken fell 21% from Rp70,000 to Rp55,000 per kg in the Pegnungan Bintan Papua area due to the Jembara program.

In addition, he reported that the price of flour under the Genbara program was IDR 20,000 per kg, while the price outside of Genbara was IDR 25,000 per kg.

He said the price of purebred chicken in the Bovendigoel district under the Jenbara program was IDR 70,000 per kg, while the price outside of Jenbara was IDR 120,000 per kg.

He added that the price of cooking oil under the Genbara program was IDR 25,000 per kg, while the price outside of Genbara was IDR 40,000 per kg.

However, he revealed that providing pioneering flight services in Indonesia has many challenges, one of which is related to the security aspect.

Other challenges include changes in weather conditions in some regions provided by pioneering flight operations, a 10% to 11% increase in value-added tax (VAT), and higher aviation fuel prices. He added.

“We are still thinking about how to deal with them,” said Istiartono.

He said much effort has been made to support efforts to reduce price inequality in eastern Indonesia, including improving aviation safety through control and supervision and implementing airfare regulation policies.

“To reduce price inequality, we continue to provide subsidies to serve underdeveloped, remote, outermost and border areas. The 2022 budget cap allocation is IDR 525 billion,” he said. I added.
