Akar accuses Greece of instigating tensions


Turkey’s defense minister, Hulusi Akar, accused Greece of creating tensions in the Aegean Sea and the eastern Mediterranean, adding that the country’s navy was ready to defend against perceived external threats.

“Greece is provoking and taking action during military exercises to establish a de facto presence. We will not allow it,” Akar said in a speech to military officials.

“We definitely show our reaction to every action taken against us,” he said.

“Our Air Force is [Greek] violation. Our navy is already on the alert.Do whatever it takes to protect [Turkey’s] Maritime jurisdiction, “he said. Akar accuses Greece of instigating tensions
