Akar: The Greeks ‘reached our noses’

Using maps dating back to 1832, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar launched a new offensive against Greece on Friday, denouncing Greek expansionism and aggression.

“They’re up to our noses,” Akar pointed out, accusing Athens of increasing tensions in the region with its claims and foreign alliances.

He added that the theory of Neo-Osmanism is a Greek construction.

Akar showed two maps of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean regions. His one of them is from his 1832.

“So are we expansionist and aggressive? Everyone laughs at that. Here’s the reality. Since 1832, they’ve been expanding their territory… Who are the expansionists?” said.
