Algarve Senior Bikers Host October Ride

Algarve Senior Bikers had another great day on October 18th. This included the highest number of participants since before all the Covid problems began, with 47 members gathering at the starting point of his ride in São Marcos da Serra.
Due to the large number of riders, it was decided to divide them into three groups for safer riding and less inconvenience for other road users.
The group was led by regular ride leaders Andrew Chilton, Alain Barzet and David Shirley.
Leaving San Marcos, the route headed north along the railway line and then west, taking one of the Algarve’s higher roads, via Nave Redonda to Monchique. The views from this road of the surrounding hills are spectacular.
After a break in Monchique, the riders continued down the valley to Foz de Falera before heading to Marmelete for lunch, tackling some steep hills and hairpin turns along the way.
A big thank you to Paulo and the staff at the restaurant Sol e Serra for the excellent service and lunch that made for a very enjoyable event.
