Slovenia becomes first European country to host annual meeting of Transformation Travel Council

Slovenia is the first country in Europe to host TRANSCEND ’22, the annual gathering of the Transformation Travel Council (TTC). The event will take place in Logar Valley from October 9-12, 2022.

Slovenia is a first in everything: the first national destination to be green certified, the first to commit to regenerative tourism at national level and now the first country in Europe to host it. Annual meeting of the Transformational Travel Council (TTC) – TRANSCEND ’22 – An event designed to shift the tourism paradigm from extraction to regeneration by transformation.

Since its inception in 2016, TTC has helped the industry transition to a more regenerative and transformative approach to travel. This collaboration will influence how tourism operates as an industry and how travelers choose to travel and live. The purpose of the TTC at TRANSCEND ’22 is to leverage the collective knowledge and experience of select conference delegates to address tough questions and share the best ideas about how travel can be a catalyst for positive change in the world. It’s about brainstorming your practice. This event would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of the Slovenian Tourism Board (STB).

Slovenia’s commitment to sustainability

Slovenian tourism approaches and frameworks have long led the industry in innovative thinking and bold, decisive action. The STB has outlined a sustainable tourism path as the only possible path. their commitment is Slovenia Tourism Green Scheme (GSST), a comprehensive national plan to address the climate, cultural and economic impacts of the travel and tourism sector.it’s already over 200 recipients of Slovenia Green Label and Slovenia Green Destinations It records over 90% of all tourists arriving in Slovenia.

Notable Recognition and Awards for Sustainability

Slovenia is globally recognized for its successful implementation of sustainability initiatives at the national level. In 2016, Slovenia was named the world’s first Green Country and in 2017 was awarded the World Legacy Destination Leadership Award by National Geographic for its sustainable management of destinations. Other awards include seven Slovenian destinations with the SLOVENIA GREEN label included in the Top 100 Destination Sustainability Stories for Global Green Destination Days 2021 and three international destinations at WTM London・Travel & Tourism Awards are included.

About Transcend ’22

TRANSCEND ’22 runs from October 9th to 12th. Logger Valley, will be attended by 100 foreign and Slovenian representatives of the tourism industry, including the most influential tour operators and travel agencies, media representatives and travel industry professionals. The purpose of the event is to influence travel industry change through networking and active participation, and contribute to seeking answers to current questions using the knowledge and experience of conference attendees. The conference highlights the importance of tourism’s role as a catalyst for positive change in the world.

TRANSCEND ’22 Experience TRANSCEND ’22 is designed to be both a learning opportunity and a transformational journey in itself, engaging participants emotionally and intellectually from the inside out. Led by industry experts, hands-on learning sessions enable a deeper connection with participants as they engage in health and nature-based activities designed to heal the body and mind.

“The conference program is focused on authenticity and discovery of oneself.”says TTC design expert Poonam Rawat-Hahne. “This program features transformative travel experiences that benefit the communities and representatives of this spectacular Slovenian valley. Offers.” To further demonstrate their commitment to travel as a force for good, STB is sponsoring two unique sessions at the event. One session will focus on the tools, knowledge, and practices needed to create truly transformative experiences.
