Anvil electricity tariff increase

Hyderabad: The electricity rate increase is on the Telangana card. The state distribution company (DISCOMS) has submitted a proposal to the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) to raise retail supply tariffs. The proposal includes raising prices for household and industrial consumers.
According to the information, DISCOMS offered an increase of 50 paisas per unit for household consumers and an increase of 1 rupee for industrial consumers. These companies have informed TSERC of losses incurred in the last few years.

With the proposed electricity tariff increase, DISCOMS is seeking to generate additional revenue for Rs.6,831 chlores, including Rs.2,110 chlores from light industry consumers and Rs.4,721 chlores from heavy industry consumers.
The revenue increase proposed by DISCOMS will help offset the loss of Rs 10,928 according to the proposal submitted Monday by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Discom G. Raghuma Reddy and CMD of Northern Discom A. Gopal Rao. It is expected. To TSERC.
DISCOMS plans to offset the remaining 4,097 rupees deficit by taking steps such as reducing line losses, stopping theft and requesting assistance from the state government.
DISCOMS and ERC have clearly stated that they need to raise their tariffs this time, as the tariffs were last revised in 2017-18.
The state has domestic consumers of 110 million rupees. State farmers shall continue to obtain free electricity. Poor people in the SC / ST category still need to get 101 units of free electricity a month.
Similarly, haircut salons and laundry in the state continue to have 250 units of free electricity each month.
