Art collector Patronage Meda Muradkova dies at the age of 102

Patronage, an art collector and founder of the Kampa Museum in Prague, died at the age of 102. Muradkova went into exile for more than half of his life. She founded a contemporary Czech collection with her husband, mainly in the United States. The art she brought to America from behind the iron curtain. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, Meda Muradkova returned to Czechoslovakia and donated her entire collection to Czechoslovakia. In 1999 she acquired Sovovy Mlýny, a historic building hundreds of meters from the Charles Bridge in Prague, and founded a foundation that turned the building into a thriving museum.
