ATHEX: Lambda and PPC Drive indexes are high

After a fairly quiet session on Atinon Avenue, partly due to a US holiday on Monday, the Greek stock market benchmarks, like most other Eurozone stock exchanges, began loosely last Friday. Continued to recover. This was done thanks to support from non-bank blue chips such as Lamda Development and PPC as lenders spent late days.

The Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX) comprehensive index closed at 831.81 points, rising 0.78% to 825.41 points on Friday. The large cap FTSE-25 index rose 0.73% to close at 2,001.26 points.

The banking index underperformed and improved by 0.43% as National gained 0.94%, Pireas grew 0.55%, Alpha rose 0.42% and Eurobank continued to rise.

Public Power Corporation surged 4.46%, Lambda collected 4.38%, but motor oil fell 2.87%.

A total of 58 stocks rose, 40 stocks suffered losses, and 22 stocks remained flat.

Sales were the lowest in 2022 after the first session of the year, down from € 170.1 million last Friday to just € 40.2 million.

In Nicosia, the Cyprus Stock Exchange’s comprehensive index fell 1.55%, closing at 69.82 points.
