The Australian Prime Minister has accused China of “threatening” after Canberra said that Chinese naval vessels struck one of the country’s defense aircraft with a laser.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Sunday that he “cannot see it in any way other than intimidation,” and said the act was “unjustified and not provoked.”

According to the Ministry of Defense, the ship was one of two Chinese naval vessels sailing off the north coast of Australia on Thursday when it illuminated a surveillance aircraft in a “potentially life-threatening” incident. ..

Australian Defense Minister Peter Dutton has expressed concern that it is a “very aggressive act.”

“I think the Chinese government wants no one to talk about these offensive bullies,” Dutton told Sky News on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the ship was sailing east in the Alafra Sea, just north of Australia.

The Chinese government has not responded to allegations from Australia.

China finally faced accusations that Australian Defense Force helicopters used military-grade lasers to target Australian aircraft in 2019 when illuminated by the South China Sea.
