Autocatalyst Thefts on the Rise in Dhekelia – SBA Officials

SBA officials warned Wednesday that the theft of catalytic converters from cars is on the rise in Dhekelia.

Things you can do to protect your car:

1) Vehicles should be parked in well-lit areas, near building entrances, or on the nearest public road so that they are visible to as many people as possible.

2) If you have a garage, keep your car in it and don’t leave it in a secluded area

3) Install a video camera where you park your car

4) Install catalytic converter anti-theft device

5) Install an alarm system in your car. The best systems can detect the smallest vibrations and have theft detection systems.

6) Call 112 if your catalytic converter is stolen.
