Nassau, Bahamas (September 23, 2022) – The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investment and Aviation (BMOTIA) continues its Global Sales and Marketing Mission Series at venues in New York City and New Jersey. to 19% of tourist arrivals from the United States. However, from January to August 2022, the two states accounted for 18% of tourist arrivals from the United States. The mission is designed to further accelerate tourism recovery in the Bahamas and generate new leads for continued tourism recovery.

Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Tourism, Investment and Aviation led a delegation including senior BMOTIA senior members to a series of high-level meetings and two states. These meetings include potential investors, corporate partners, sports teams, film and arts institutions, trade partners, MICE planners and other stakeholders across the tourism industry.

“We are just starting to explore different tourism markets as we are focused on regaining market share and maximizing return on investment,” said DPM Cooper.

“These missions are more than just an opportunity to promote our tourism products. We will re-establish the Bahamas as a premier travel destination for the next 50 years of independence and the growth and development of the tourism industry. It is also an opportunity to

Attendees will be treated to a live and engaging Q&A panel featuring DPM and her ADG, highlighting the Bahamas’ steadily increasing tourist numbers and future development plans for the industry.

The Global Mission launched in the Florida market last month and will continue through May 2023. In addition to major travel hubs in the United States and Canada, the delegation will also head to Brazil and the United Arab Emirates for a taste of Bahamian culture.
