Bahamasair resumes weekly direct flights from GB to Orlando

The Ministry of Tourism, Investment and Aviation said in a statement yesterday that Bahamasair has resumed weekly direct flights from Grand Bahama (GBI) to Orlando and has begun a limited-time schedule ending in September.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment and Aviation Chester Cooper said in a statement that Florida is the Bahamas’ priority market.

“This summer, the trip is back in a big way. We’re ready for it,” Cooper said.

“We make traveling Florida easier than ever with more direct flights to the Bahamas.

“… We are excited to expand our offer of flights from the state with these weekly direct flight options from Orlando, Bahamasair.”

Flights to Orlando operate from Monday to Thursday and will end on September 10.

According to the statement, the referral fare for the flight starts at $ 297 for a round-trip flight.

He added that the flight schedule will end on September 10th and will resume in November.

“For those looking forward to a winter escape, the direct flight from Orlando to GBI will return from 17 November 2022 to 12 January 2023 and you can book now. Those who are ready can book a flight at today, “said the statement.

Delta also no mentions plans to stop service to Grand Bahama after Hurricane Dorian and return to the island. Delta recently resumed flights from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Marsh Harbor on Abaco Island. This is the first time the airline has entered service on Abaco since Hurricane Dorian destroyed parts of Abaco and Grand Bahama in September 2019.
