Bank pre-tax profit fell 18% in the first five months

Ljubljana-Slovenian banks posted a total pre-tax profit of € 174 million in the first five months of this year. This was 18.2% lower than in the year-ago quarter due to higher operating expenses and net impairment. The provisions show a monthly report by Banka Slovenije. The central bank said the decline was primarily the result of slightly higher operating costs and a net impairment of € 12.8 million and the creation of provisions. Banka Slovenije said:
