Norvan Tan En Jie, 26, was sentenced to nine years, nine months, four weeks in prison and eight lashes for sexually assaulting a friend of his sister in 2016.

Tan is the co-founder of Beef Bro, a local eatery.

He was convicted on July 15 of this year on two counts of sexual assault by trespassing and two counts of assault on modesty.

He pleaded not guilty to these charges and filed for trial on September 29, 2020.

The prosecution sought an extension of imprisonment
