The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a 7-day incidence of 338.3 in Berlin on Wednesday (May 11, 2022).
This is the number of infections reported per 100,000 people in 7 days. According to the Senate status report, the incidence was 350 the day before and 457.8 a week ago. RKI reported a national incidence of 507.1 on Wednesday.
Over 1 million infectious diseases since the start of the pandemic
In Berlin, about 3800 new infections were reported within a day. Since the start of the pandemic in the spring of 2020, more than 1 million infections have been reported in the capital.
Many unreported cases
Experts assume that not all rapid tests are reliable and that many cases are not recorded because the positive rapid test is not always followed by the PCR test. In addition, not all health authorities report data daily, which can delay reporting, especially on weekends and at the beginning of the week.
Three new deaths reported
According to statistics, three new deaths have also been added. Therefore, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 4528 deaths associated with corona infections have been counted in Berlin.
