Both police unions welcome candidates for interior minister

Ljubljana-Both police unions said Wednesday that former police secretary Tajana Bobner was an excellent choice for the interior minister. The union said it would restore public confidence in police after presumed new prime minister Robert Golob revealed a list of candidates for ministers.
Rok Cvetko, head of the Slovenian Police Labor Union (PSS), told STA that Bobner is “a long-term police employee who is highly regarded not only by staff but also by citizens.”
Christian Mureksh, head of the Slovenian Police Labor Union (SPS), made Golob’s decision a “good move” given that Bobner was “known as a good expert in the field covered by the Home Office.” Labeled.
Both unions are confident that they will restore the reputation and dignity of police officials after Bobner’s significant decline.
According to Cvetko, Bobner has built a reputation for advocating the rule of law, human rights and respect for democratic values. She has shown a high level of integrity and ethics, which will definitely be important in the next semester, he added.
Trade unions are also bright about social dialogue under Bobner. “She has already shown a lot of understanding about social dialogue in the past,” Mlekuš said, adding that Cvetko is a “tough but fair negotiator.”
Bobner was appointed as the first female police secretary by the Government of Mariyan Chalek in December 2018. The Janez Janša government replaced her at the first meeting in March 2020.
