California 2024 Election Poll: Harris vs. Trump
About the average of opinion polls
Our average includes polls collected by The New York Times and FiveThirtyEight. Estimates are adjusted to take into account a variety of factors, including the recency of the poll, the sample size, whether the poll is representative of voters, and whether other polls have changed since the poll was conducted.
Additionally, each polling company will be assessed on the following: Has a track record of accurate predictions in recent electionsBe a member of a professional polling organizationConduct probability-based sampling
These factors influence each poll's contribution to the average, and we consider any polling organization that meets at least two of the three criteria to be a “select polling organization” as long as it is conducting the poll on behalf of a nonpartisan sponsor. Learn more about our methodology here.
The Times partners with Siena College to conduct its own national and state polls. Those polls are included in the averages. The Times/Siena College poll can be found here.
