To the editor,

I live in Brehos de Azeitan, a bus route from Setubal to Lisbon. After spending a month in Ireland and the UK, I could hardly find the latest information online or in the British newspapers in Portugal about the turmoil that seems to be hijacking the bus route south of Tejo from TST. According to Carris Metropolitano. There is no clear information about when or when new routes / timetables will be imposed in the city of Setubal. Is it July? Is it 2023?

Also, it seems that there is no longer a bus service connecting Setubal and Lisbon Seterios, which runs through Azeitão. The old buses 754 and 755 now appear to be heading to the train station south of Tejo, but no more buses running from Azeitão to Lisbon.

This is clearly a big blow to anyone on the old route that relies on going to Lisbon by bus. Not only will bus and train alternatives be longer, but the abolition of previous services will make trains even more crowded than before, creating more health risks, just as Covid is never gone. Will bus authorities restore the bus from Setubal to Lisbon via Azeitão?
