Children with multicultural backgrounds are losing interest in the native language of foreign parents

Recently, bilingualism is generally considered to be a strength of children with multicultural backgrounds, according to government data, but children of these families living in South Korea learn the native language of foreign parents. I’m not very enthusiastic about it. The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Affairs shared the results of the 2021 survey of more than 15,000 multicultural households nationwide. The triennial survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with multinational couples and their children aged 9 to 24 on their economic activities, family life, childcare status and education.
