Police in eastern China have rescued nearly 150 cats from a slaughterhouse, according to an international animal welfare organization.
The animal was stuffed into a rusty cage when it was found by police in Jinan, an eastern city in Shandong province, the Humane Society International (HSI) said in a statement yesterday.
