Climate crisis poses serious health risks – Speranza after G7

(ANSA) – ROME, 10 August – The climate crisis poses serious health risks, Health Minister Roberto Speranza said after meeting with his G7 counterparts on Wednesday.

“Today’s meeting of G7 health ministers has made it clear just how close the link between health and the environment is,” Speranza said on Facebook.

“The climate emergency of recent weeks has had a health impact that cannot be underestimated.

“To meet this great global challenge, we must work together at the international level,” Speranza said at the request of Germany’s watch Presidency in the presence of Stella Kyriakides of the European Health Commission. The G7, which met on Wednesday, said it had provided an update on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent heat wave on the health of the European population. (ANSA).
