WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – A Colorado-based company has won an extension of a contract to provide support services to Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay naval base, the Pentagon said.

“Vectrus Systems Co., Ltd.” [of] The state of Colorado, Colorado, has been awarded a $48,888,974 modified contract for base operations support services at Guantanamo Bay Naval Station in Cuba,” the Pentagon said in a release Monday.

According to the release, the award brings the contract’s cumulative total to $96,754,647.

“The contract change concerns a 12-month bridge extension of base operations support services under the master contract,” the release added.

Work on the contract will take place at Guantanamo Bay Naval Station in Cuba and is expected to be completed within a year by November 2023, according to the release.
