COVID: 16,571 new cases, 59 victims-English

(ANSA)-Rome, June 20-There have been 16,571 new cases of COVID-19 in Italy in the last 24 hours, with an additional 59 virus victims, the Ministry of Health said Monday.

This is comparable to 30,526 new cases and more than 18 casualties on Sunday.

Approximately 79,375 tests were performed compared to 160,211 on Sunday.

The positive rate has risen from 19.1% to 20.9%.

Cases in the intensive care unit range from 10 to 209, and hospitalizations range from 187 to 4,585.

The current plus is 574,649, down 18,699 on Sunday.

Recovery and emissions were 17,153,636, an increase of 35,545 on Sunday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of cases has been 17,896,065 and the number of deaths has been 167,780. (ANSA).
