Covid-19 Booster Shot Delivery for Seniors in Qatar-Doha News

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced that more than 125,000 Covid-19 booster shots have been administered in the past week alone due to increased demand for vaccine doses.

The ministry’s enthusiasm for providing large numbers of booster shots has increased in response to the country’s surge in infections over the past month. To control the third wave that hits Qatar, MoPH announced that it is now possible to bring Covid vaccine boosters home for specific demographics of the population that identify sick and elderly people. Dr. Soha Al-Bayat, Head of Vaccination at MoPH, emphasized the need for boosters 6 months after the second vaccination.

She states: “There is clear evidence from multiple national and international studies that the protective immunity obtained with the first two doses is reduced 6 months after the second dose.
