COVID: 24,267 new cases, 66 victims-English

(ANSA)-May 31, Rome-24,267 new cases of COVID-19 have occurred in Italy in the last 24 hours, with an additional 66 victims of the virus, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday.

This is comparable to 7,537 new cases and 62 casualties on Monday.

Approximately 242,060 tests were performed compared to 80,177 on Monday.

The positive rate has risen from 9.4% to 10.03%.

Intensive care cases are reduced from 7 to 248 and hospitalizations are reduced from 160 to 5,121.

The current plus is 679,394, down 19,467 on Monday.

Recovery and emissions were 16,575,319, an increase of 44,088 on Monday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of cases has been 17,421,410 and the number of deaths has been 166,697. (ANSA).
