COVID: 27,296 new cases, 147 victims – Japanese

(ANSA) – ROME, 18 August – Italy had 27,296 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, with a further 147 infected with the virus, the health ministry said on Thursday.

That compares with 36,265 new cases and more than 128 deaths on Wednesday.

There were about 167,185 more tests, compared to 228,707 on Wednesday.

The positive rate has risen from 15.8% to 16.3%.

Intensive care cases increased from 31 to 268 and hospitalizations decreased from 314 to 7,025. (ANSA).
