COVID: 55,829 new cases, 51 victims-English

(ANSA)-Rome, June 24-There have been 55,829 new cases of COVID-19 in Italy in the last 24 hours, with an additional 51 virus victims, the Ministry of Health said Friday.

This is comparable to 56,166 new cases and more than 75 casualties on Thursday.

Approximately 238,069 tests were performed compared to Thursday’s 248,042.

The positive rate has risen from 22.6% to 23.4%.

Up to 9 to 225 cases in the intensive care unit and up to 141 to 5,205 hospitalizations.

The current positives are 678,178, an increase of 25,606 on Thursday.

It was recovered and discharged 17,281,848, an increase of 30,753 on Thursday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of cases has been 18,128,044 and the number of deaths has been 168,018. (ANSA).
