COVID: 56,015 new cases, 158 victims-English

(ANSA)-Rome, May 10-There have been 56,015 new cases of COVID-19 in Italy in the last 24 hours, with an additional 158 virus victims, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday.

This is comparable to 17,155 new cases and 84 casualties on Monday.

Approximately 371,221 tests were performed compared to 126,559 on Monday.

The positive rate has risen from 13.5% to 15%.

Intensive care cases are reduced from 5 to 358 and hospitalizations are reduced from 156 to 8,579.

The current plus is 1,082,972, down 20,783 on Monday.

Monday collections and emissions were 15,624,915, an increase of 76,824.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of cases has been 16,872,618 and the number of deaths has been 164,731. (ANSA).
