COVID: 8,512 new cases, more than 70 victims-English

(ANSA)-Rome, June 6-There have been 8,512 new cases of COVID-19 in Italy in the last 24 hours, with an additional 70 virus victims, the Ministry of Health said Monday.

This is comparable to the increase of 15,082 new cases and 27 casualties on Sunday.

Approximately 75,010 or more tests were performed compared to 123,699 on Sunday.

The positive rate has risen from 12.1% to 20.1%.

Cases in the intensive care unit decreased from 1 to 217, and hospitalizations increased from 42 to 4,453.

The current plus is 631,348, down 10,079 on Sunday.

Recovery and emissions were 16,716,222, an increase of 18,625 on Sunday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of cases has been 17,514,589 and the number of deaths has been 167,019. (ANSA).
