Croat aiming for rowing gold at European Championships

Part of the Multisport European Championships in Munich, the European Rowing Championships will take place from August 11th to 14th in Oberschleissheim, not far from Munich.

553 rowers from 33 European countries will compete in the European Rowing Championships, with Croatia represented by: Dora Dragicevich in light singles Ivana When Josipa Jurkovic in pairs without rudder martin When Valent Sincovich in doubles.

The biggest expectations are the undefeated Shinkovic brothers since returning to doubles.

“Since the last World Cup in Lucerne, I had a bit of injury problems, so I’m not completely ready, but I’m sure I’m ready. But I think we can win.The competition is very strong and the biggest competitors are Lithuania and Spain which might surprise the Irish.They have a strong name and we have never met them. No, so it’s going to be interesting. We did three top races and hopefully you don’t think you missed a few days of preparation.” Martin Sincovich.

The Jurkovic sisters will have strong competition at this European Championship. Two of her Dutch crew members, Ymkje Clevering and her Veronique Meester, who won bronze in the Cockless Four at the Tokyo Olympics, are now transitioning to cockless pairs. Won a gold medal at the World Cup in Belgrade.

“In addition to cycling and the gym, we have run over 300 kilometers on water in 10 days. After Josipa’s surgery we are getting back in shape and everything is slowly coming back into place. We know we need more time to grow, but we are taking it step by step.Our goal now is to reach the A-Final, one of the stronger European Championships. It’s going to be a big success for us because there is, the competition is very good, mostly placing eight and four medalists in pairs, but we won’t give up and I believe everything will work out ”. Ivana Jurkovich.

The competition will start on Thursday 11 August at 9:00 CET and the race will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August 2022, following a repechage, semi-final and final.
