Croatians rank 6th in the EU for alcohol consumption
How much do households in Croatia spend on alcohol? More than in most EU countries, according to dates released this week by Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office.
Croats are sixth in the EU when it comes to the share of total household spending spent on alcohol in the EU.
Latvia will have the highest share of total consumer spending on alcoholic beverages in 2021 at 5.0%.
Estonia (4.7%) was second, followed by Poland (3.7%), Lithuania, the Czech Republic (all 3.6%) and Croatia (3.5%).
In 2021, EU households will spend €128 billion on alcoholic beverages. This represents her 1.8% of total consumer spending. Eurostat Said.
Croatia has a well above average share of alcoholic beverages at 3.5% and is the only country with an increase from the previous year (+0.6 points).
Greece and Italy (both 1.0%), the Netherlands (1.3%) and Spain (1.4%) had the lowest spending on alcoholic beverages as a percentage of total consumption.

Romania (24.8%) ranked first, followed by Lithuania (20.4%), Bulgaria (20.1%), Estonia (19.9%), Poland and Slovakia (all 19.6%).
