Russia, Bulgaria, Russian oil transport, Lukoil

Moscow (Sputnik)-Currently, there is no substitute for Russian oil for Bulgaria, said Lukoil Nefttim Burgas, a subsidiary of Lukoil.

“Currently, there are no other types of oil on the market, so there is no real alternative. Technically, it can process oil from the Middle East and North Africa, but this reduces the capacity of refineries.” The local BTV TV channel quoted the company’s words.

According to the channel, experts predict that Bulgaria’s fuel prices will rise by 20 to 30 percent if Russia’s oil is embargoed.

EU Foreign Policy Officer Josep Borrell said that the sixth package of European sanctions against Russia includes a new bank block from SWIFT, new sanctions “for disinformation”, and restrictions on oil imports. Said to be included.

Agence France-Presse reported on Tuesday that Bulgaria and the Czech Republic could demand an exemption from the EU’s ban on Russian oil, citing unnamed EU officials.

Earlier, Slovakia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Richard Slick said he insisted that EU countries be exempt from the ban on oil purchases in Russia, which they plan to introduce in a new package of anti-Russian sanctions. Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs also said Budapest does not support sanctions on gas and oil from Russia.

Borrell: More Russian banks will be disconnected from the SWIFT system

The EU has adopted five packages of sanctions on Russia’s individual, organizational, financial and energy sectors after the start of Moscow’s special operation to demilitarize Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously said that Western sanctions are very serious and Russia is preparing for them in advance.

Western nations have announced a series of new sanctions against Russia for Moscow’s special military operations in Ukraine, and Europe has begun to make statements about the need to reduce Russia’s dependence on energy resources more intensively. Courses that refuse to supply oil and gas from Russia are actively supported by the United States, which is calling on alternative producers to increase production.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia’s containment and weakening policies were a long-term Western strategy, and sanctions had a serious impact on the global economy as a whole. According to Putin, the main goal of the West is to make the lives of millions of people worse. He said the US and EU have effectively defaulted their obligations to Russia and have frozen foreign exchange reserves. He also said that current events draw a line under western global domination, both politically and economically.
