Czech ready to send more aid to Turkey, Lipavský says

The Czech Republic is ready to extend the 10-day stay of search and rescue teams in earthquake-hit Turkey and send more financial and material aid, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavski said on Wednesday. Stated. Prague will proceed as requested by Turkey, he told reporters.

The Czech Republic plans to send generators and sleeping bags to Turkey next week and is monitoring further requests, Lipavski said after the cabinet meeting. A Czech woman in Turkey has gone missing since the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey on Monday.

68 Czech rescue teams are working around the clock in the city of Adiyaman to free people trapped under destroyed buildings.

The foreign minister said the Czech Republic would also send aid to Syria, which was hit by the same earthquake, but this would be done through international aid agencies given the country’s complex situation.
