Czech universities fall into international rankings

Czech higher education institutions have fallen into this year’s annual international ranking of universities by the British company Quacquarelli Symmonds. Of the 16 ranked universities, 4 declined, 9 remained at the same level, and 1 was the first to appear in the rankings.

Only two have improved their status this year: the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) and the Higher Chemical Technology School (VŠCHT). As usual, Charles University in Prague was the highest in the country, but dropped from 266th to 280th.

Rankings are based on six criteria: reputation among other universities and employers, author citations, internationalization of academia, number of international students, and average number of students per teacher. Czech universities fall into international rankings
