A total of 4,149 representatives will physically attend the day’s National Conference at the Ideal Convention Center (IDCC) in Shah Alam and vote for the CEC. This will lead the party to the 15th general election (GE15). CEC members elect the party’s secretary general among them.

Anthony Roke Shoe Hook, a member of Parliament in Seremban and DAP’s national secretary, will replace Lim Guan Enghi as Secretary-General, competing for 30 CEC posts for a term of 2022-202593. One of the candidates.

Other CEC candidates include Guan Eng’s father and party veteran Lim Kit Siang, party chairman Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai, vice chairman Penang Prime Minister Chow Kon Yeow, and late Karpal Singh’s son Gobind Singh Deo. .. And Ramkarpal Singh.

Another important development of the National Assembly is the presence of stronger female representatives at the new CEC.

At the last National Assembly, the party’s constitution was amended to secure a 30% quota for women in the CEC. This means that there are at least nine women on the new committee.

There are five female CEC members for the 2018-2021 term. Teresa Kok Sue Sim (Deputy Secretary-General), Yo Bein (Deputy Secretary-General), Theo Nee Ching (International Secretary-General), and Committee members Jung En and Janny Rashinban.

Meanwhile, among the Malay candidates in the party’s polls are Penang spokesman and Penang executive councilor Zyril Kil Johali, vice-chairman Tenk Zulpri Shah Raja Puzi, and Johor DAP.
